The Story of Wesport

After dedicating most of my life to tennis I had to cut my career short without fulfilling my dream of breaking into the top 100 WTA ranking. I had to change tack and I soon enrolled at Stockholm Business School. But I wasn’t happy. I started looking for my next big dream, but I couldn’t seem to find the right direction.

And so one day I happened upon a book that would change my life: What they don’t teach you at Harvard Business School by Mark McCormack, the man who essentially invented sports management as an industry.

I was very proud when several years later I got the chance to move to Washington after one of the leading agencies hired me as a agent. I worked hard to learn every aspect of the job and after a couple of years I had recruited and was representing the world’s number one female tennis player. It was a dream come true.

But after ten years in the business I felt that something was missing, I felt that that the industry focused too much on maximizing profit while lacking personal commitment.

The decision was made. I was going to start my own sports management agency based on my own vision and values. I left my job and was placed on garden leave; I had to leave all my clients behind. But in 2014 my dream was finally fulfilled: I founded Wesport. At last I had the freedom to run my own business with a relentless focus on helping athletes reach their maximum potential. I built the company from the ground up with personal engagement and uncompromising professionalism as core values. After years of searching, I was finally home.

At Wesport we don’t have a magic formula. We put hard work into every single detail to stay ahead of the curve. We simply aim to do everything – and we mean everything – a little better than our competition. The same mind-set and graft that makes an athlete succeed is what shapes our business. We know that every inch, every fraction of a second, every last little detail, will make the difference in the end. Our goal is simple: to create the optimal conditions for each individual athlete to thrive and succeed.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Wesport. I hope you want to join us on our journey!
